Megan Valley (she/her) is a writer and journalist from Michigan and first-year MFA candidate at the University of Pittsburgh studying nonfiction writing.
Megan is the 2022 nonfiction winner of the Ploughshares Emerging Writer Contest.
Before starting graduate school, Megan worked as a local reporter for four years at two different newspapers. Her sports and education reporting has earned first-place awards from the Illinois Press Association.
Megan graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2018 with a B.A. in English and the Program of Liberal Studies. Her writing has previously been published in Notre Dame Magazine, the Cleveland Review of Books, and The Hard Times.
